The Big Muddy Valley

The Big Muddy Valley is one of Canada’s untapped wonders. The valley has magnificent scenery which will take you back to the days of Sitting Bull and renegade outlaws. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the prehistoric forces that shaped the valley, centuries ago. Only a few moments south of Bengough, the Big Muddy valley will transport you to a time gone by.

Bengough & District Museum

“Putting A Face To Our Past” Our displays depict the diverse history of the area, from the early Coal mining industry to the settlers of the past, the Bengough & District will transport you days gone by.

Socoko Art Gallery & Studio

The owner/operator of the Gallery offers a variety of art classes to all ages, ie. pottery, painting (oil & latex), charcoal drawing, etc. Give Carol a call and let her know what type of classes would interest you.


Coal Mine Site

The Coal Mine Site was developed by the Bengough & District Museum. The site includes: coal mine site entrance and hill, refurbished coal cars and original track, along with an information centre. We have added picnic tables to make the area more inviting to tourists traveling through town. The Mine display can be found at 4th Ave. East and Hwy 34, Bengough SK.
